Curious Boys and Girls Club will be joining us for our Community Day to capture the thoughts and feelings from men of colour in relation to mental health. Capturing moments through the photographic lens and starting to break down the stigma of talking openly to strangers, CBGC will be sharing their unique and creative approach to improving mental health.
The Curious Boys Girls Club is dedicated to empowering men of colour with improved mental well-being through creative tools and peer support, striving to eliminate discrimination and providing a brighter future for all.
In collaboration with the Heart of England CRP, CBGC recently led their Curious Trails project. The focus of Curious Trails was to encourage men to connect with others, build relationships, and explore their creativity through photography and illustration. Through taking a train journey outside of their city, the aim was for them to slow down, engage with their surroundings, and take moments to rest, reflect, explore, and talk with one another.
An exhibition in Coventry Station showcases some of the captured moments of the men as they walked through both urban and green spaces. Their goal is for more men of colour to undertake projects like this in the future and be part of the club. To find out more and connect visit CBGC's Linktree.

Coventry Men's Shed was set up about ten years ago. The aim of the project was to help men with their wellbeing. In the beginning the sessions were cooking sessions, that helped members of the group to socially interact with each other. The cooking sessions went on for about 3 years on and off and they have run other cooking sessions every few years since.
About six years ago they had the idea to get some funding to start up a Coventry Men's Shed arts and crafts group and the Crafty Blokes project was born.
