Trip to Bat and Ball Station

At the beginning of July, we were lucky enough to visit the amazing Bat and Ball Station in Kent. Sevenoaks Town Council led the project to convert the disused station building into a cafe and community hub and in the process have reduced anti-social and criminal behaviour around the station.  As a result of the project the Darent Valley CRP was set up and now there are plans to transform other disused buildings along the line with work well under way at Eynsford and Shoreham Stations.  It is a fantastic example of the power of community rail transforming a space and influencing the behaviours of those around the station.
