At West Midlands Trains, 99% of managerial staff have completed the ‘Environmental Awareness on the Railway’ training package, with 538 colleagues across the company having completed the course.

Their depot teams have been busy bee’s creating brilliant habitats for wildlife to interact within – they recycled some pallets which had delivered materials to their Soho depot to create some blooming planters and also keep their bird table topped up year-round!

WMT have achieved and continue to maintain 100% diversion from landfill through their waste contractor. Waste that is currently not recycled or re-used in some way undergoes ‘waste to energy’ transformation where waste is used to create energy for electricity or heating, reducing the impact of overflowing landfill sites.
