Friends of Olton station
Friends of Olton Station are an amicable group of volunteers who work all year round – maintaining and tending the station planters, hanging baskets and putting up Christmas decorations in the waiting room.
The group started in 1995 and was known as Olton Station Gardening Group before recently changing its name to Friends of Olton Station. They have twice won a Community Involvement Award in the Solihull Civic Honours, the latest in 2016.
Friends of Olton Station have mutually beneficial inks with West Midlands Railway as a part of the regional Adopt a Station Scheme.
Most volunteers visit the station at a convenient time on a weekly basis to tend a planter and water.
If you want to learn more, please see their display notice in the station waiting room or contact Geoff Taylor.
